ScriptSpool – Create code animations in the browser
I originally built ScriptSpool because I wanted to make short code animations for my own development tutorials. I looked at a few similar tools and projects online. Many of them felt either too limited, while using a full video editor was just too much work for what I wanted to achieve. So I decided to build something I would actually use: paste some code, choose a theme and animation, adjust the speed, and export. It started as a very simple typing animation tool. I then added line-by-line playback, GIF export, long PNG screenshots, themes, window styles, and a few other things. Everything runs in the browser, and your code isn't uploaded to a server for processing. I'm curious whether character-by-character or line-by-line playback is actually useful for real development tutorials, and what other use cases I might be missing.
