We saw a lot of issues with Stripe so we built an alternative

Stripe is often seen as the gold standard for international and cross-border payments. But in reality, many founders, especially those outside the US, have a different experience: Merchants are frequently offboarded without much explanation. Stripe isn’t available or fully supported in many countries. Even when available, setting up a legal entity, handling tax compliance, or managing FX fees can be a huge overhead. We built Dodo Payments to solve exactly this. ( https://www.dodopayments.com ) It’s a Merchant of Record (MoR) platform designed to help digital founders and indie hackers sell globally without worrying about regulatory complexity, payment infrastructure, or compliance headaches. What we offer: Global payment gateway access (even in Stripe-restricted regions) One-click tax compliance (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.) No need to set up local legal entities Revenue settlement in local currency Checkout stack optimized for global conversions We’ve seen rapid growth in the last few months, and it's clear this is a problem affecting thousands of small, independent builders trying to scale from non-Western countries. Our early adopters love that they can now “just sell” while we take care of everything else.
