Get Turing patterns with simple image processing
Zebra stripes, leopard spots, butterfly wings, and many other natural patterns are governed by reaction-diffusion systems. These systems are governed by two processes: diffusion and reaction. Surprisingly, we can mimic these natural patterns using simple image processing techniques like blurring and sharpening. I built this interactive website to try it out, you can just upload a picture and iteratively blur and sharpen it many times until you see the patterns emerge!
