For the past couple of week, I’ve been chatting with Jeremy Chone about his new open-source rust project, devai, and I think it’s the AI tool we’ve all been waiting for. Unlike other coding assistants that focus on chat, devai actually automates tasks with a clear, customizable workflow. It’s about getting AI to do the work for you, not just talk. What’s cool is you define everything in markdown—input, behavior, output. It’s highly flexible and feels like a real step toward AI helping you write meaningful code, not just tossing suggestions. The project’s early, but the potential is huge, probably extends far beyond coding.
