A Notes App for Developers
A Notes App for Developers
I’m an iOS dev who manages a few side projects. I usually use the stock notes app to keep up with my projects, but since I use the notes app for everything, it’s pretty hard for me to keep my app stuff organized. I usually end up forgetting I even created a note. On top of that, I had a pretty complicated feature I want to build for one of my apps and sometimes (well a lot of the time) I have moments of code inspiration away from my laptop. The notes app sucks here because you can’t really stub a code idea cleanly. I decided to build an app to help me stub out my code thoughts and ended up with CodeStub. Project sort of evolved as I used it. It’s NOT a text editor. I’ve filled the app with enhancements that I always wanted for a dev-centric notes app. Some things as simple as access to the backtick symbol without changing the keyboard can go a long way when you’re trying to get your thoughts out. Right now the code-stubbing aspect is geared towards iOS devs, but I’m working on multi-language support. The notes aspect alone I think is a solid productivity tool for any code language. Beta is still open, and I’d love y’alls feedback!
