bbl – Bible command line reader

bbl is a set of commands to read and search bible, works in macos, ubuntu, and windows. I'm a Christian programmer/devops. When I am working in command line, I did not want leave there to open web browser or other desktop/mobile app to read bible. Rather just wanted to type some git like commands to output texts of the Bible in the console like this: bbl john 3:16-18 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. bbl matt 6:9-13 in kjv 9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. 10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. bbl search Jesus Christ in romans 5 romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: romans 5:6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. bbl rand nt 2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. bbl is an open source software, built with Kotlin language with clikt. Search is powered by apache lucene. Pull requests and posting issues are welcomed.
